Clean Eating Magazine Review

I just realized last night that I have not written a review of my favorite magazine on earth and part of the inspiration for this site…duh! I think most of our readers have already guessed that I think Clean Eating Magazine is the best magazine on the market (I am somewhat of a health magazine addict connoisseur and do not hand out the title of “best magazine” without a lot of thought and reasoning behind it!), but I want to share why in case there’s a few of our readers sitting on the fence about subscribing to Clean Eating Magazine. My reasons are in no particular order.

  1. Cut Out Recipe Cards: I have come to the conclusion that I am in love with the cut-out recipe cards that Clean Eating Mag provides. I am actually excited over the thought of having an entire recipe box full of clean eating recipes!
  2. The photos are always amazing! Of course, any food magazine worth its salt will have beautiful food photos, but the ones in Clean Eating Magazine make my mouth water – over healthy foods!
  3. The articles: Regular contributors, such as Jonny Bowden and Tosca Reno (of course!), who are experts assure me that what I am reading is the real deal and I find out such interesting tidbits of info that can be applied in my life. For example, in the current issue of Clean Eating, Tosca Reno explains how to eat clean as a shift worker. Now, that doesn’t apply to me; however, my husband changes shifts every single week and he struggles with eating right and I’ve been struggling with how to help him. Tosca provides awesome tips on how I can help him clean up his diet.
  4. The recipes: The recipes in Clean Eating Mag are what keep me coming back for more! I mean check out this issue’s (July/August ’09) cover at: CleanEatingMag.com Clean Eating Ice Cream Sandwiches! Need I say more? Okay, I will because the recipes in CE are wonderful and usually very easy to make. This month’s issue includes Balsamic-Marinated Prok Chops & Grilled Peaches (I love grilled fruit – YUM!), Chicken Cheese Steak, Turkey Paninis with Sun-Dried Tomatoes (with mozzarella cheese – delish!), all types of frozen treats such as frozen yogurts, and these scrumptous looking treats called Chocolate & Raspberry Bombs!
  5. More than just food: While CE Magazine provides a lot of info about food and kitchen and cooking tips, there’s also cookbook and diet book reviews, success stories, tips on how to save money, and a section called Be Well which includes tips on such things as beating food cravings.
  6. And last but not least the meal plans: Every single issue of the magazine includes a 14-day Clean Eating Meal Plan with an accompanying grocery shopping list that can be easily cut out. This makes getting started eating clean easy for everyone.

So there are my reasons, and I have to add that when I walk to my mailbox and find CE Mag in the mail, I get so excited that I immediately come in the house and open it and read it cover to cover. It’s that good. And in my opinion, Clean Eating Magazine is an absolute must-have for anyone who eats clean or those even thinking about it. You can always pick up a copy at the store, but a subscription will save you money. A one-year subscription from Amazon is only $19.97, which breaks down to $3.33 per issue and the stand price is $5.99 per issue.

I love clean eating magazine, I get practically all my recipes from it now. I also adore the two week menu plans. you can mix it up, but it still provides an easy outline to keep me on track. I just stick it on my fridge at the beginning of the week and check it through out the day. The dinners are only for one person, though, but that’s easy to sub out with all the recipes throughout the magazines. Love it!
