Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie
I love, love, love peanut butter and banana! I think I mentioned in a previous post that I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches. I also love smoothies. So when I found this peanut butter and banana smoothie recipe, I thought, “Oh, this will be heaven!” And it is.
This recipe is actually one adapted from a Prevention recipe I found. I had to clean it up a bit, so I switched out the fat-free regular milk with soy milk. Of course, you can use any type of milk you want – rice, almond, soy. I also added a tablespoon of wheat germ.
My suggestion is if you try this smoothie, use it as a replacement for breakfast or lunch because it’s a bit high in calories for just a snack (appx. 430 using soy milk) and a bit high in carbs because of the banana and the honey (50 grams), although it does have 20 grams of protein.
Enjoy!
Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup soy milk
- 1/2 cup fat-free plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp. natural unsalted peanut butter
- 1/4 ripe banana, chunked
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 1 tbsp. wheat germ
- 4 ice cubes (if desired)
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in blender and process until smooth. Serve or refrigerate immediately. Makes 1 serving.

This was so yummy! I changed it a little bit… I added some leftover cooked oatmeal that I had (with raisins). No honey or wheat germ. But I added ground flax seed! Tasty
Thanks!
