This Very Berry Smoothie is not only delicious but chock full of energy boosting nutrients. I try to drink one of these at least twice a week to get my
morning off to a good start. You can use frozen strawberries and raspberries in this, which is what I do in the winter, but if you do, you may want to cut back on the ice a bit because frozen fruit seems to thicken smoothies on their own and since ice will thicken a smoothie as well, it may be too thick if you use a full cup of ice.
Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups sliced strawberries, plus 2 whole strawberries (for garnish)
- 1/2 cup raspberries
- 1/2 cup low-fat or skim milk (or milk of your choosing)
- 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
- 1 cup ice
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 1 tbsp. wheat germ
Directions:
- Combine the 1.5 cups strawberries, raspberries, and milk in blender and blend until smooth.
- Add yogurt, ice, honey, and wheat germ to the blender and blend again until all ingredients are combined and smoothie is creamy.
- This recipe will make two servings, so pour smoothie into 2 glasses. Slice the two whole strawberries in half and garnish the glasses with the sliced strawberries.

This was a very yummy recipe. I am still reading up on clean eating and been stocking up on my fruits and veg to make a change. I found this recipe to use up my strawberries and I was so pleased!!!
Glad to be of help, Ms Journalist!
