Sometimes you really want pizza, but not the guilt that comes with it. These little guys solve that problem and are a huge hit in my house. They make great after school snacks, too! You can also use regular size pitas and add sliced chicken or ground turkey for a more complete clean meal. It doesn’t get any easier!
You’ll need:
- 100% Whole Wheat Mini Pitas
- Olive or Grapeseed Oil
- Shredded Part Skim Mozzarella Cheese
- Natural Pizza Sauce (My favorite is Dei Fratelli or you can make your own.)
Arrange pitas on a cookie sheet and lightly brush with oil. Top with pizza sauce and mozzarella. Bake until cheese is melted (doesn’t take long!). Enjoy as an appetizer, snack or meal!

These look absolutely delish and so easy to make! I think I’m going to go make some!
Made these last night as part of our new clean eating diet. They were wonderful and definitely curbed any desire for pizza. We accidentally used Parmesan but it created a great flavor that was a little different than mozzarella. Slicing the pitz brea in half (so you get to whole circles out of one piece of pita) cuts the calories a bit if looking to make it more of a snack.
How much cheese and sauce did you put on each pita?
Randall, I honestly don’t have specific amounts to give you. I just eyeballed it. In my family some of us like more sauce and some more cheese. They are small, so it doesn’t take very much of either.
