My husband and I are expanding our garden this year and it’s going to be so much bigger than last year! I will post pics as we progress, but in the meantime, we are going to do a little container gardening. Not by my choice, mind you (because I figure what is the point?), but my husband decided to get some seeds, start them out in containers in the house, and then plant them in our outdoor garden when our ground is ready for planting. This is definitely a first for both of us. My husband grew up on a farm and there was none of this container gardening stuff going on and since he is the gardening “expert” in this house, yet has never tried container gardening, I had to do some research. I thought I would share what I have found so far for those of you who want to try it yourself.
First we ordered our seeds and also some tomato plants from Burpee. We actually ordered a bunch of free catalogs from seed and plant companies a couple of months ago. Burpee is the only one that sent us a free catalog by week’s end and also a $5.00 coupon for our first order, and with our first order, we received a free gift. Their prices are reasonable, although I would look around your neighborhood stores first to see if you can find a deal to avoid shipping charges.
