Keep Clean Snacks Handy
Here’s a little tip that I need to follow myself: keep clean snacks on hand at all times.
I had a mountain of work to get done last week, so that means a lot of time spent sitting in front of the computer typing, little time to fix full-blown meals and I really needed stuff to snack on. I had nothing prepared, so I grabbed whatever I could get my hands on. Now, this wouldn’t be an issue if my husband were to be a clean eater, but he’s only about 90% on the clean eating track right now. He has came a long way (and lost 25 lbs. in the process!), but he’s still not “all the way there,” so he does keep some junk food in the house. So of course I grabbed his granola bars, which would be okay if they were homemade. They weren’t and so they’re junk food, and while homemade granola bars have nutritional value, these do not because whatever value they could have has been completely wiped out by the added sugar, high fructose corn syrup, etc.
What I plan to do from now is take a couple hours on the weekend and make up some healthy snacks, chop up some fruits and veggies and have them in little containers in the fridge so they’re already made up and can be quickly grabbed from the fridge. I’m also going to make sure I read JenniferE’s tips and keep some of those clean snacks on hand.
Eating every 2 to 3 hours does take some getting used to, and now my body is trained to eat every 3 hours, but when I’m pressed for time, I have to have something quick and easy. So I think it’s best to be prepared for when hunger strikes and you don’t have a lot of time to make a clean meal.

Great idea to plan ahead and have healthy snacks ready. I find myself drinking water to keep me from snacking. Loved Jennifer’s healthy snack ideas. I’ll go reply there now.
